AMD or Intel Laptop?

Im looking at getting an HP dv6t Quad Laptop but Im not sure which set up is better.

AMD:
APU: A8-3550MX
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7690M 1gb GDDR5 Discrete Graphics
Memory: 6gb DDR3
HDD: 640gb Hard Drive

Intel:
CPU: 3rd Generation Intel i7-3610QM (2.3ghz)
Graphics: Nvidia GT 650M Graphics 2gb GDDR5
Memory 8gb DDR3
HDD: 1tb Hard Drive

I know the Intel sounds better but Im not sure how the i7 performs against the A8 APU with Accelerated Graphics.

It kind of depends on what you are going to do with the machine. Game? Webserve? Compile code? Or just light stuff like surfing, email, some sort of word processor?

I fit into the latter category and the system isn't that important to me.

the i7 will be better overall since both have discrete graphics. AMD is only better in on-board graphics
