Making my HP LaserJet 1000 work with Windows 7

Is there a workaround to make the HP LaserJet 1000 work with Windows 7?

Hi :) 

It MAY work in an XP virtual machine but for that you need 7 pro or Ultimate...its a VERY old printer...

Not windows 7 64-bit, sorry. HP never wrote a 64-bit driver

If you have XP mode installed you can add the printer on your XP virtual machine and print from there

The LaserJet 1000 can be installed as a local printer, in a Windows 7 - 64 bit system, under XP Mode (32 bit system). Originally, XP mode is limited to the Pro, Ultimate and Enterprise versions. But there is procedure that to create something similar to XP Mode for the Home version.

Additional work is required to make the printer accessible to the host W7 computer, as well as to other printers that there might be in a network.
