Building a machine for parents

I'm going to be building a computer for my parents and I was looking for suggestions as to which CPU I should go for.
I trying to put the rig together for about $400-$500. I want to build something that will work for the next 3 to 5 years.
All they do is Email, browse web, Minor Photo Editing and a little youtube now and then.
Obviously AMD is the way to go for the price.
I was thinking something like:

AMD A6-3500 Llano 2.1GHz (2.4GHz Max Turbo) Socket FM1 65W Triple-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6530D AD3500OJGXBOX

ASRock A55M-HVS FM1 AMD A55 (Hudson D2) HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

More about building machine parents
  1. I would up that to an guad for their little editing
  2. Do they already have other components (monitor, keyboard, etc.) or are you building it from the ground up?
  3. Seems good, what do you need suggestions on.
  4. I'm going to get them a new monitor as well. they already have key board & Mouse.
Upping to the quad core is good idea. for only 20 more dollars.
I guess I was just wondering if the CPU/MOBO combo I posted is best bang for a low budget?
    Thanks for the responses!
  5. This board will serve just as well if you do not need the HDMI connection
  6. This topic has been moved from the section CPU & Components to section Systems by Mousemonkey
  7. No need to go quad core. For them, tri-core is more than enough. Good build!
  8. Any opinions on:
    RAIDMAX RX-380K 380W ATX12V Power Supply

Any recommendations for a better psu for the money?

Raidmax is JUNK. It will not supply the stated wattage. Go for the Antec EA380.
