First thing i'd cut is the keyboard and mouse, you can easily save nearly 100 bucks by just getting an el cheapo for now.

If you're going to spend big on a keyboard, consider getting a mechanical keyboard like http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=rosewill+mechanical&x=0&y=0

Or possibly a CM Storm. Reds or Blues are the most popular for gaming. These keyboards use mechanical switches rather than a rubber dome over a membrane. They last longer with a little love and feel much nicer.

the logitech G500 is a solid mouse, only issue I had was with several logitech products, the braided cables would fray and stop working near where it exited the device. I own a razer deathadder and have been very happy with it. Quite different from the G500 in size shape and weight.

Back on topic, if you're not looking to OC in the short term, skip the cooler, it will bring the cost down a bit more.

If you have no specific need for a Blu-Ray player, a DVD burner works fine. I rarely if ever use my dvd player as everything is downloaded nowadays.

Cutting down to a WD Blue drive like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769 Would cut another 25 bucks off. Most people only think they need 1tb of space. As long as you don't have every game you own installed and every movie you own ripped to your HDD you'll never need 1TB of space.

If you don't mind open box units I would go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131781R for your mobo, easily cut 60 bucks off, and I prefer Asus to Asrock (owned both brands in the past) although Asrock didn't prove any disappointments, I prefer Asus.

Between those, You should be able to cut the necessary 200 out of your build without making any huge sacrifices.

If you're going to get the CPU at microcenter, then get the mobo there too for the $50 combo discount.

Ditto with internetlad about the keyboard, mouse and blu-ray player. Drop those in exchange for cheaper parts and you'll save $100. Those can be purchased later when you have saved enough.
