Can I use a GeForce GTX 550 Ti dual slot graphics card on M2N68-AM SE2?
I am running latest BIOS, Maxed out RAM (which is only 4 GB), a 550 Watt Power Suppy, and 2.7 GHz Dual-Core AMD Phenom Black Edition proccessor. My OS is XP Pro x64. I know these are antiquated, but I would rather upgrade than replace.
I should have my Ultra LSP750 750-Watt Power Supply with 135mm Fan by tomorrow. I will let you know if it worked within the week, and then do the selection of best answer.
Thanks for the help.
For those who are doing this, I was using the rev. 2.0 motherboard, the 1409 BIOS, and WindowsXP x64 OS. Due to compatibility issues with WindowsXP x64, the video card driver had to be downloaded from the manufacturers site. I chose to use the Beta for the driver that just came out on the 14th of April (11 days ago, but it works fine). The video card did work, and I am seeing a large improvement in my games.
On a further note, I don't think I can use my remaining PCIE slot for anything else, as almost anything I put there is going to block the fan on my video card, but realistically, I had no plans of putting anything there anyway.
Should not be a problem with the board. It has double spacing under the PCIE slot.
The power supply might be a problem.
What brand and model is it?
All went well... kinda bumpy software install, but everything works fine with the new 750 Watt power supply I put in. You were right about that, I did the calculations, and found I needed at least 8 more Watts than my supply had when it was new. Any ways, thank you.
