Hey, So I'm planning to build a video editing focused computer running mainly adobe after effects, sony vegas etc.

Approximate Purchase Date: 2 weeks

Budget Range: $1000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Video editing/ rendering, gaming, standard web use.

Parts Not Required: speakers, Operating System.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Canada Computers, TigerDirect

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: Intel

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Additional Comments: I'm likely going for the i5 Ivy Bridge CPU, but not sure which one? 3450 or 3750k?

If you will not overclock I would go with an I5-3450 for price alone. Do you need a monitor? I will assume yes since you have not said otherwise, but it will give you more options if you have one already. For this price, I would get 8 gigs of ram and expand if necessary in a few years. Get an h77 mobo. and a gtx 670.
