APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: ASAP BUDGET RANGE: $75 - $175

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming TOTAL WAR: ROME ,MEDIEVAL2, KINGDOMS; CALL OF DUTY 4, SOLDIER OF FORTUNE I & II. Would also like to be able to use old game European Air War if possible. Nothing cutting edge, but MED 2 is crahing and temp at 92 C. ( 72 C idle)

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: GeForce 7500LE; OEM HP 350watt PSU

  2. I think if you update your PSU to either a Corsair, Antec, Seasonic, or XFX brands of 400w's or higher then I would say a 6850 would be just what you need. Anything bigger then you should upgrade your CPU.

You would be able to play all of the games you posted on med to high in the settings. Here is a link to a PSU and a GPU. And I found your rig so it is also posted. Good luck to you.

  3. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core2+Duo+T5600+%40+1.83GHz

I'd say an HD6850 would likely be bottlenecked by the CPU, but they aren't too expensive so might as well.

    Basically I agree:
    - HD6850 1GB, and
    - PSU Antec 550Watt or similar
  4. I'd go with that Corsair PSU linked above..
