I7 or i5

Depends on your needs.

For gaming, an i5 3570k is more than you'll ever need. If you're going to 3D render or edit videos, however, then the i7 3770k is your best bet.

For games... i5.

For 3D rendering / video encoding... i7.

+1 you wont need the i7 if you're gaming. 4 highly efficient cores is more than enough especially for a single card setup if that's your forte

Even if you do some encoding, but mainly game, the i5 is a better bet. The i7 is only recommendable if you're using multi-threaded applications the majority of the time.
