Stock dell i7 920 at 1.524V, can i reduce Voltage?

Hi, the title says it...

I bought a Dell Studio XPS 9100 With a intel' i7-920 about 2 years ago,

and I'm kind of strugling with the CPU's heat...
it's at 47-50 degrees now, with <5% cpu usage ...

And I don't really want to pay a 50-100 bucks for a MotherBoard,
but well, do I have a choice?

If i'm not wrong, that voltage is a bit high even for 45nm quads.

Where did u read your voltages from? Was it CPU-Z or from somewhere else?

That's what I thought, he might be reading the wrong voltage.
