HI COMRADES..

My question is if I can run Crysis 2 at 1080p Hardcore settings with the following configuration>

Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 @ 3.33 GHZ
4gb RAM @800 MHZ
Foxcon Mobo
Nvidia GTX 660ti @915mhz with 2gb video dedicated memory
1tb HDD @7200 RPM
WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE
DX11.

Please help, ive been trying to get ready to run these settings i can run Crysis 1 and Warhead at 1080p on Enthusiast settings fine with this PC. What do yall think?

Eh, not really, you will be pushing it in my opinion. Its not the graphics card, its mostly the processor and the ram for me in my opinion. I'm guessing its DDR2 ram from the low clocks, that surely not going to help. The Processor is one of the best Core 2 Duo's out there, but, its not going to help either.

Really, you're matching a 660ti, a half arsed card (I think its a waste of money, don't buy it if you haven't bought it yet, go for a 7870 GHZ), with not the best system.

Hmmm. You will be able to run it fine. I don't know about running it on ultra...

My 670 struggles with it at that resolution with everything maxxed, and the 660ti has a neutered RAM bus.

The only other thing is your ram. Is it DDR 2 at 800MHz? If so, that could pose a real problem.

you won't have a problem running crysis 2 if you don't enable dx11. The dx11 also happens to not add any graphical detail but just makes the game run worse.

Ok thanks for the advice friends,

now next month im upgrading my mobo and CPU along with RAM, i was thinking one of these two options>

AMD FX 8150 8 core @ 3.6 ghz
8 GB RAM DDR3 1600
AM3+ board, probably Gigabyte or ASUS.

or

Intel CORE I 7 2600k 4 core @3.5 ghz
8 gb RAM DDR3 1600
ASUS Z77 mobo.

Which of these for price vs performance do u guys recommend?

get an intel i5, its cheaper than the i7 and offers the same performance, both are better than the 8150.

Neither honestly. an i5-2500K or 3570K is all you need to max out any game @ 1080p. The FX-8150 isn't bad for DirectX11 games (which Crysis 2 supports), it matches any similarly priced Intel CPU, but not every game uses DX11, and there are some games the FX CPUs do get embarrassed by Intel. Having made you aware of that, just so you know what you're getting into, an FX-8120 is cheaper, and is essentially the same CPU as the FX-8150, its just clocked lower. Since both are unlocked, why not look at an 8120 if you wanted to go that route?

Also, since you're looking to do this next month, FX-8350s (the new generation) will be on the table at that time, they should be a little more competitive to Intel (albeit probably behind in certain things as they already are). Particularly, single core performance is where AMD suffers. AMD has CPUs with more cores that individually perform worse (8 core FX-8 vs 4 core i5 for example).

I actually think its worth trying Crysis 2 on your overclocked C2D. You might be surprised with it, never know.

i5 3570k best cpu for the money, Plus you can overclock it for an extra performance boost.

The i5 3570k can easily handle two gtx 680's when it's overclocked.

Its pretty much impossible for bf3 multiplayer to run well one a dual core.

better get the fx 8350 with 970 or 990fx chipset mobo the fx 8350 is a very good chip for its price it is performing somewhat equal to i5 3570k which is $20 more then that chip the multi threded performance of fx 8350 is superb in some benchmarks it performs better then i7 3770k which is about $100 more then that cpu.

most of the people says that fx cpus are fail but they dont look at the price they are superb in multitasking ,overlocking, stays under 50c most with stock heatsink also the place amd get behind is the single threaded performance and gaming but in games it is just 1-5 fps behind which means nothing to me.:)

before some time when bulldozer was launched i have read the review saying that its an fail the most of the guiys here were asking about fx 4100,fx 6100,fx 8120,8150 vs i5,i3 at that time i was also giving the people that advice that its an fail but after some time my freind bought fx 4100 i thought he has done wrong but after seeing its performance i just shocked in games it is same as i3 and in application it is performing close to i5 my mouth was just get wide open that time fxs are the best cpus for price:)

dont let the reviews make you fool get the fx 8350 and see the performance with your own most of the guys thinking has changed about fxs after using it:)

hi so i got a Core i7 3770k 3.9ghz right now maybe 4.4 later.
Kholer 920.
MSI z77 gd 65
16gb Viper
GTX 660ti
1.5 tb caviar black

these goodies work really good, on prime 95 100% load i get 58c and idle 30c or less sometimes 25c.

the I7 performs really good, man i recommend it to anyone on a regular budget. If they want more just get the hexacore.

thanks for your help team!!!!

we didnt really help you.. you mostly helped yourself in the wrong way by getting the 3770k which offers no significant benefit over an i5 in gaming.
but whats done is done..

Yea.. thats what I was thinking. Lets see.. i7 w/ 660 TI or i5 with GTX 670?.... Which games better? *smack* the i5 with the 670.
