Private Messages

I hate to look like an idiot, but how do I check my private messages?

On the right side of your screen somewhere says 'show right column' or something similar, click on that and a side bar thing comes up, at the top of that side bar there is a tab called 'message' with a number next to it if you have any unread messages (PMs).

There is also a link at the bottom of the main forum index which is there regardless of whether the right column is visible or not.
