Screen resolution incompatability

Hello,
I'm running a HP8 desktop with an NVDIDIA 550GTX TI graphics card and a Samsung TA350 screen. Windows ansd Samsung screen show native 1920x1080 resolution.
All drivers are up to date except Realtek gigabit ethernet. My problem is the on screen resolution is very low. Is it a problem with Screen or more likely graphics card?
