Hello all, I want to upgrade my graphics card, im thinking either an Asus 550Ti or an Asus 6850. I have a fairly dated system Intel core two quad 2.4 x 4 with 4Gb DDR2 memory. My monitors native resolution is 1680x1024, currently using two nvidia 8800GT cards in SLI, PCI Express x16. My motherboard is an Asus P5N32-E SLI, have a 750w power supply. My OS is Vista 64, wanting to play BF3 at highest setting possible. I hope thats all the info you need.

Between 550 ti or 6850, 6850 wins, so get some 6850 :) .

Of the two cards, the 6850 should perform a bit better than the 550ti in general, but they are more alike than different. But for BF3 that may or may not be the case.
Check out some specific BF3 benchmarks.

But, I don't think either card is a big enough jump over your sli 8800gt cards to make you really happy with the upgrade.
The recommended requirements for BF3 is a GTX560 or 6950 class card:

For highest settings, I suspect you may need more.

Your pc meets the minimum requirements, so you may want to wait and see how you do before deciding on what upgrade you may or may not need.

Neither of cards will offer big boost over your 8800 GT in SLI. You're gonna have to spend more money to it to be a worthy upgrade (not throwing money in the trash bin).
