My xbox360 with built in wi fi wont connect to network

i just got my xbox 360 with built in wifi and it say connect to xbox live for free but it shows o ther people in my area but thiers is locked

You need your own wifi to connect your XBOX 360,your neighbors have theirs secure so nobody leeches off of their connection!
