7850 on an older rig 3+ years)

heya,

I am considering an upgrade for my 4870 on my rig and im preety setesfied from it but i think its time to upgrade the GPU. the problem is, im thinking it will bottleneck the card. i can handle something like 10-15% performance loss due the old rig but if its more, probably not worth it. what do you guys think?

There will be bottleneck since dual core is kind of worthless... Wonder why most PCie 3.0 is Quad and you'll understand why dual core will bottleneck 7850... Best if you upgrade to a Q9xxx for better performance...

probably not worth it if your not going to upgrade the rest of your rig in a few months. But you might consider to upgrade for a cheaper GPU, a 6870 might be a good upgrade and only about 150$

only things i kept were the case, hard drives, power supply and cpu heatsink
