hello,
i have newly installed a nvidia gt 240 1gb gddr5 on my pc. Bt nw, when i play games, my computer just shuts down automatically. i didnt have this problem with my previous gpu, gt 210. I have a 450 watt psu (odyssey). pls help.
I suspect it's the power supply to blame. Do you have to have a friend from whom you could borrow another power supply? Or maybe you could bring your rig to his house so he lets you try it out and see if that was the fault?
Also, other than that it could be overheating. Download HWMonitor, Furmark and Prime95 and run stress tests. Observe temperatures for around 15 mins and report them back.
the psu...??? i guess u guys are right. the gpu requires a psu of 300 w with a minimum 18 A reading in 12 volts. bt my psu is only providing me with a 14 A reading in 12 Volts. So, any recomendations for a new psu...???
It's an excellent power supply, which has 3 years warranty, comes from a quality brand and delivers the power it states to and even more. It's only very cheap as well! I'd say it's the cheapest quality power supply you can find for that price. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Corsair-CX430-V2-Power-Supply-Review/1284
