Hey folks,

My family have a central router in the home.

Normally I connect through it - by direct cable or wireless - to the internet.

For some reason - my fiddling probably - while I can get on the LAN by both cable and wireless, I cannot get onto the internet.

The Router is fine. Others connected by cable or wireless have no problems. We have tried all we can think of with the router - which has no activated access controls - but I get no-where.

Would welcome any help.

Thank you

So the best thing to do (easy anyway) is reset the router back to factory. This is a good step as it get you familiar with setting up the router, security, and features.

However, on the affected PC, this may not fix the issue.
in a command prompt window (run->cmd) type

ipconfig /all

and check for odd numbers. Easy to do this on a working system as well and find numbers that don't match (expect physical address and Ip address)
