The graphics card on my Sony Vaio VGN-AR51E seems to have died. I need to buy a replacement but have no clue of which one to buy (no matter where you look in the "support" (?) of Sony's website you don't seem to find any clear explanations...). Could anyone kindly advise. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the graphics chip is soldered to the motherboard. If this is the case, it probably isnt replaceable, or at best would have to be done in a shop where they could de-solder the old chip and put in a new one. The labor would probably be a couple of hundred, plus the price of the chip...
Thats if it can even be done

I am afraid you won't be able to do the change on your own. If your integrated GPU is dead it will have to go into the shop and I don't know how much it will cost.

Sometimes it would be cheaper to buy a new one. But I don't know for sure. Here is a link for parts on your laptop and maybe they can help you find a replacement or shop to fix your laptop. I wish you the best of luck.
