Nice system. I like the modular PS.

Why get 2 1TB hard drives? Are you going to Raid 1 them? You can pick up a single 3TB drive for around $159.
June 8, 2012 2:39:02 AM

The V6 GT will NOT fit in the Asus Sabertooth without a mod. You would have to cut one of the heat pipes. It may fit if you take off the thermal armor but then there wouldn't be a point in getting the sabertooth. I have the sabertooth and it's awesome so I just got the 212 EVO over the V6 GT.

because i was going to raid them i dont need that much storage and there 32mb and when there in raid i will have 64mb cache so its faster and its saving a few bucks. also which is a good mobo
June 8, 2012 2:49:47 AM

They're both great mobos, if you're dead set on the V6 GT or want to save some money, get the Extreme6. I got the sabertooth over others, mainly just for it's badass look. The sabertooth isn't a great value for the features you get, you're paying a premium for its uniqueness.
June 8, 2012 2:57:58 AM

I've heard great things about the 212 EVO. Best bang for the buck!
June 8, 2012 3:04:43 AM

ok it sounds like i am going to go with the extreme 6 and the hyper 212 evo ive heard good things about both of them i know that they say there isnt a dif. between the extreme 4 for less $ but i like the look of the extreme 6 better.
June 8, 2012 3:24:17 AM

All awesome selections, should be quite the beast! It sucks you have to wait so long to build it. Keep in mind prices will fluctuate between now and then.
June 8, 2012 3:56:56 AM

I would try to get the ASUS DirectCU II GTX 670 or Gigabyte Winforce 670 GTX instead of the EVGA if possible.
June 8, 2012 4:08:12 AM

If you get the Asus, get the TOP version. Don't get the windforce. The Asus and the FTW are the two best 670's hands down. Cooling is better on the Asus than the windforce and the FTW has the highest clock speed. No benefit to the Windforce besides price but if you're spending that much a GFX card, I'm supposing $20 won't matter.
June 8, 2012 4:11:48 AM

ok sweet thanks for the input guys i really apreaciate it. :)  oh and also si my storage situation good putting two hdd's in raid with an ssd???
June 8, 2012 4:13:58 AM

Also the PCB on the Gigabyte is blue clashing with your color scheme. Not to mention it's hideous.
June 8, 2012 4:18:12 AM

so get the ASUS DirectCU II GTX 670 over the giabyte windforce and the evga ftw???
June 8, 2012 4:18:58 AM

which raid were you planning on doing? I would just get a 2TB if that's how much you need. You'll save money and you can just use your ssd for you OS, apps that benefit from fast storage, and games.
June 8, 2012 4:20:03 AM

Didn't the EVGA FTW have a recall?
http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/27197-evga-does-mini-...

Indeed, the ASUS card is very nice, but has been out of stock since release!

I have a Gigabyte Windforce GTX 680 and I love it (I tried to get the ASUS DirectCU II GTX 670, but I gave up waiting.. so paid an extra $80).

The PCB isn't so bad after the case cover is on :-)

June 8, 2012 4:20:21 AM

Get the Asus Top edition or the FTW. Not the Gigabyte or the regular version of the Asus DCUII
June 8, 2012 4:22:13 AM

so just get a 2tb samsung spinpoint or is there a better one? and then use a 256gb crucial m4 ssd? is that overboard for games files (music, documents, pictures/ videos) and things like that?
June 8, 2012 4:23:31 AM

The EVGA superclocked did but they replaced all of them with the FTW editions to those affected. Pretty Sweet customer service. Most people weren't even mad about it because of how great the service was.
June 8, 2012 4:23:44 AM

ok sounds good for the video card also should i get a sound card or should i just get good speakers?
June 8, 2012 4:27:38 AM

I have the 256GB Crucial M4 SSD and a 3TB Seagte Baracuda drive. After I ordered, I saw a post that showed the Mushkin 240GB way faster.

But really, my Windows 7 64 bit boots in 7 seconds. It is completely awesome. The Crucial worked flawlessly. In my sons computer, we got a OCZ Vertex 3 128GB.. and it was difficult to even format.

June 8, 2012 4:27:41 AM

You don't need a soundcard unless you're an audiophile. Your mobo supports 7.1 ch. audio.

+1

I have the Bose Companion 3 speakers. I bought from Costco - they look good and sound good. Price is not good though :o
June 8, 2012 4:31:51 AM

so should i get the mushkin or the crucial m4
June 8, 2012 4:36:53 AM

Mushkin Chronos Deluxe is beast but the Crucial is not bad either. I agree about the OCZ drive. I have an OCZ ZX 850W PSU and it's awesome but I don't like their drives. I have the Samsung 830 and it's really nice but expensive.
June 8, 2012 4:39:10 AM

ok sounds good so i think i am going with the mushkin 240gb ive heard good things. also is my psu good is that a good price for it and do you guys know if my memory will fit under my cpu cooler???
June 8, 2012 4:41:53 AM

You'll be fine with the memory, let me check on the PSU.
June 8, 2012 4:50:35 AM

is 750w enough for what i am doing? also i see that alot of PSU's have 80+ gold, bronze, and silver is this a big benifit is this saving you all that much money if so how much? i really appreciate your guys's help thanks! :)
June 8, 2012 4:50:54 AM

+1 Corsair is made by seasonic so both brands of very high quality.
June 8, 2012 4:52:04 AM

I'm not smart enough to tell you how much you save but 750 will be plenty if it's a good quality PSU.
June 8, 2012 4:53:14 AM

ok sweet ill go with the psu jschaad posted
June 8, 2012 5:10:50 AM

actually i think im going to use the psu i had before because there quieter save you like 30 bucks a year paying for its price diff. in a year and they do not run as hot.
June 8, 2012 5:15:59 AM

Good call. But in the time before you order your parts you might find better deals so keep an eye out.
June 8, 2012 5:16:11 AM

so just get a 2tb samsung spinpoint or is there a better one? and then use a 240gb mushkin ssd? is that overboard for games files (music, documents, pictures/ videos) and things like that? ya ill keep an eye out for better parts and stuff should i get warrenties foe certain things or what should i get warrenties for and how long
June 8, 2012 5:38:23 AM

i was going to get that earlier but i was reading up on it and saw that they were not consistant being that alot of them were DOA (the wd drives) so im not sure what to get
June 8, 2012 5:44:17 AM

They have no more DOA's than other companies but you hear about it more because they sell a huge amount of drives. The samsungs are good drives too if you don't want WD.
June 8, 2012 5:47:14 AM

i think ill go with wd oh i also would like to know should i get warrenties foe certain things or what should i get warrenties for and how long . i apreciat your help

June 8, 2012 5:47:23 AM

Just make sure you don't get a green or eco drive. They are ridiculous.
June 8, 2012 5:49:24 AM

ok sounds good should i get warrenties for certain things or what should i get warrenties for and how long
June 8, 2012 5:57:25 AM

I don't but it's really a personal preference thing. Warranties are mainly there to make a company money. Also, all of your products are from reputable companies with decent warranties anyway. So I would say no, but if they give you peace of mind go for it.
June 8, 2012 6:00:49 AM

ok thank you very much i appreciate your time :)  cant wait to order XD
June 8, 2012 6:02:56 AM

No problem! Good Luck :)
June 8, 2012 6:16:52 AM

The HDD is storage, right? If so, Green drives are just fine.
June 8, 2012 6:20:22 AM

what is the difference between black blue and green?
June 8, 2012 6:21:16 AM

Speed, but that doesn't matter since all your programs and games will be on the SSD.
June 8, 2012 6:25:35 AM

ok is the wd hdd a good hdd or should i go another route
June 8, 2012 6:30:05 AM

The WD Caviar Green is a good drive.
