Approximate Purchase Date: This week

Budget Range: Approx $1000 Cdn

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, internet, Microsoft office

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, OS, Optical drive

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I would like to pick them up at memory express, they will price match other Canadian dealers. If a part is not available from them I am willing to order online but would rather not.

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: Was looking at a i5 2500k and a 7850 GPU

Overclocking: Maybe, not right now but I could see so in the future

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future

Monitor Resolution:1920x1080, will be looking at a new monitor in the future

Additional Comments: I am hoping for this to last me a couple years playing higher settings before needing a good upgrade. I would like to set up a dual monitor display for work productivity and possibly three in the future. If three monitors won't work it is not a deal breaker.

I have been looking at these parts so far but I am not dead set on any of them. I am fairly lost as to what motherboard would be good for me and the best ram for by build. Also will a 650w PSU be enough or should I get a 750w just to be safe?

CPU - i5 2500k

GPU - Sapphire Radeon 7850

Case - Cooler Master HAF 922

PSU - Corsair tx650

+1 to bigcyco1's build. I would also try these websites: and, to see if their prices are cheaper.

If Memory Express don't want to match your prices, try NCIX. They price-matched my stuff without question.

Also, Memory Express choices are very limited. To price match, the store has to have the exact same model you are looking for. You may not be able to price match some components you want.

I guess that just reiterates my previous point. Try NCIX for price-matching. :p
