As I know that CrossFire is a Multiple GPU technology of ATI.
It can make a few display cards used on one computer side by side,and increase computing performance.

Normally you would only do [strike]SLI[/strike] Xfire (SLI is nVidia's "version" of xfire) if using two older cards, or if you REALLY need the extra bump. You should only use same cards (brand is irrelevant) and the performance is like this:

1 card, 60fps. (i.e.)
2 cards xfire, you'd get 90-105fps. ALMOST but not quite x2 the performance.

I believe you can only crossfire from the same series, so your 3000 won't work unless with another 3000. However, I would just get a dedicated card.
