The idea is to go with ivy bridge and a Z77, if possible. I would have prefered an nvidia gpu, but don't think I can be bothered waiting for gtx660ti. As for the rest, I'm completely open to suggestions.
What I have put together here is pretty much at my budget limit and would appreciate knowing if there's a way to lower the price without losing too much/any performance.

CASE: Antec Three Hundred Midi Tower Svart

PSU: Corsair TX V2 650W PSU

HDD: Western Digital Caviar® Black 1TB

COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Kylare

That is a good build.

If you want to save money, go with a 7850 instead. It's about $100 cheaper in the US and it can be heavily OC'd to match or even exceed a 7870. The 7870 is overpriced imo.

Otherwise, it's a solid build. If you go with the 7850 you might have budget room for an SSD.

You want low profile RAM so you don't impede that CM EVO cpu h/s.

Also that Corsair 650w psu is total over kill for that build. This XFX psu is manufactured by Seasonic as is that Corsair and is more than enough for that card.

Much appreciated advice, thank you.

Last question - Would it be worth going from Western Digital Caviar® Black 1TB to Seagate Barracuda® 1TB?
