A 64 bit OS should work on a similarly old 64 bit CPU. I don't see how the CPU could be a problem for you.

put you cpu in google and see if it has 64 bit architecture, if so then it will work but im assuming amd64 64 being it will work

Specific CPU micro-architectures can have different instruction set support. For example, some Core based CPUs are only 32 but whereas others of the same micro-architecture are 64 bit and the same is true for even Netburst CPUs. Looking up the CPU to be sure is a good idea, but the micro-architecture isn't necessarily what matters.

Does it have both processors installed? I use linux on dual/quad processor machines without any problems but I don't know anything about windows.
