New build $1600. Help me choose part.

I am currently building a new computer. This will be my first build and I picked a few different parts, which I need help choosing. I just want to make sure that I can get the best performance with my computer. My money cap is estimated to around $1,600, but if someone can present me a good argument to go for something a little more expensive for whatever reason I will definitely take it into consideration. Please explain to me all that you think I should do, so I can learn from you what is best. Thanks for all the help!

First off, what is your machine being primarily used for? I know mine was being used for primarily gaming, so I didn't need the hyperthreading included with the i7 and just went with the i5-3570k which (apparently) preforms just as well as the i7 on games and saves around $100. Also, it was said earlier in the thread that you should not buy an audio card unless your a serious audiophile (which I admit, I am not), saving you another $80. With that alone, you could get a much nicer graphics card, such as the Radeon HD 7870 (if your willing to spend a little extra) and I'm sure you can find a much better case for less, getting you that money you could spend on a better GPU. Finally, I'm not really sure you need 16GB of ram... 8GB is more than enough now, with 4GB or ram being the standard. And if you are worried about issues with the future value of the computer, you can just buy more ram later. So I would just go with 8GB of ram and save yourself some money.

That system is way out of wack for a gaming build
