Display problem

hello. looking to fix a small problem that i'm having with my display driver. doesn't happen often but everyonce in a while my display will go black for 2 seconds and come right back and i get a message that reads "display drivers stoped working but has recovered", just wondering if this is the begining of a bigger problem or if is something that i can do to stop it from happening again. the display is connected to an asus 6950 card.

Sometimes turning vsync on or off will help but then again it could be an indication of failing Vram!

Is this happing in a game for just when surffing the web? Usually when the display drivers stop working is caused by something in the game or on the web. You could try your drivers again.

But I would say in a game you should try turning on and off settings to see if that doesn't clear it up. If on the web which I have had that happen to me. I turns out my drivers had to be rolled back to an earlier time.

I've seen some GPUs with a faulty hardware decoder would cause this to happen when surfing the web and flash acceleration kicks in.
