Why would my laptop screen look like this?

Hello, I have a new Asus K53E, and when I opened it up a few minutes ago, the screen looks like this:

What would cause this? I've had this computer for 8 days. It hasn't been exposed to heat or cold, and nothing has been set on top of it and it hasn't been dropped.

Take it bake and get another.
