Anytime i do anything related to sound such as play MP3's or even cd's and online greeting cards with sound my system crashes. Sometimes i get blue screens of death or often hard reboots. Please help, this is very frustrating, it never used to do this. I reinstalled windows thinking it might solve it if it was software related, but it didn't. The card is a sound blaster 64 AWE.
Remove the card from device manager, shut down, remove the card, reboot, set PNP OS to NO, alow it to go into windows, shut down, put the card back in, and boot up again. If all goes well, BIOS will configure your cards so that there is no longer a confict. When windows finds the card again, reinstall the driver.
