If you have to upgrade the PSU to support the 560 I would stay with the 550Ti it isn't worth the extra money. But the 6850 performs equal to the 560 and uses the power of the 550Ti (550Ti is about 117 watts draw at load while the 6850 is 125 watts, the 560 is all the way up at 200 watts) so I would get that if possible.

Yeah but If I followed that everytime Id have a gtx590. All I want to know is can the gtx550ti play skyrim and bf3 on medium or high on a old DVI monitor dont know the monitor resoulutions. If not how much of an improvement would the gtx560 be and is it worth the extra £40 including the psu upgrade.

I havent bought a psu yet so it would only be a £5 upgrade from an OCZ 500w to a 550w.
Also I dont want to get an AMD card as the motherboard supports sli but not crossfire as I was looking to sli in the future
