Hey everyone.

Very quick question. I have a Prolimatech Armageddon cooler for my first generation (1156) I5. I know that 1155 (Sandy Bridge) took 1156 coolers no problem; is the same true for Ivy Bridge?

I would love to use the Armageddon should I upgrade to Ivy Bridge.

Thanks.

The mounting points for both socket 1155 and 1156 are the same distance. So yes a HSF (heatsink/fan) that will work on a socket 1156 board would also work on a socket 1155 board. This does matter if the socket is for the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor (Sandy Bridge) or 3rd generation Intel Core (Ivy Bridge) since both use the same socket and even most of the "6" series boards can be use the 3rd generation Intel Core processors with a Bios update.
