I'm not sure where else to put this topic. Perhaps this forum section is good for it.

I know that USB 3.0 is still rather new. It was around a year or so ago that I read some people saying that USB 3.0 ports can run very hot. Is this true? Do PC components with USB 3.0 ports (that have been made and manufactured in the last few months) run cooler now, or are things better now? Are USB 3.0 ports almost always safe (for peripherals and PC parts) and reliable? Do we have to worry about them causing damage to peripherals, and do we have to worry about them damaging USB flash drives; possibly even corrupting their data?

Did USB 3.0 have these kinds of issues early on when it first became available and are USB 3.0 ports nowadays virtually problem free?
