How to tell if my GPU & CPU are sufficient to run Minecraft on my pc

My son would like to put the Minecraft game on my PC. I have 2.00 GB RAM, my GPU is Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family and my CPU is Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU T5450 @ 1.66GHz. Also I downloaded the latest version of Java. Is this sufficient?

You will be able to run it, but barely. You will have to turn down the fog distance all the way to have it run smoothly. You should download the Demo first and see how it runs and see if it's acceptable to you and your son. Minecraft is more taxing on a system than you would think. So, download it and give it a go. You got nothing to lose but a few minutes of your time. :)
