GeForce GTX 550 Ti OC vs Radeon HD 6850

I am currently in the search for a graphics card for my soon to be first build, but both of the ones I have chosen stopped being sold. So the two I have come up with now are;

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 550 Ti OC 1024MB GDDR5

I'm just curious as to which of these two cards are better for performance in games. My uppermost budget is £80 so if you do choose something else please don't go over £80 and I would prefer it to come from the Novatech website. Oh damn. I forgot, the £80 budget is prices excluding VAT prices.

Hi! Welcome to the forums.

Maybe we could find a little more room in your budget if you post what you plan on getting. Sometimes there's some deals going on, or just things that can be moved around.

I will say that the 6850 will be faster than the 550 period. If you can list what you plan on getting, we may be able to move up to a 560 Ti or 7850!

Unfortunately, none of those cards are within my budget. I'm already close to breaking the bank as it is. This is all getting a little confusing. And sorry, I didn't read your post properly! I'd probably save sometime in the future for something like that. I don't have a 6770, I was planning on getting one. The problem is that both of the 6770's that were available on the site are no longer being sold, so I'm choosing between the two I listed at the start of this thread.
