I just bought all new parts to make a gaming PC. After I installed the video card and the dvi to VGA adapter I tried to connect it to the monitor but it wouldn't display anything. I wanted to know what is causing this or what is faulty and I need to replace

Specs:

Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon 6850

Motherboard: ASRock 970DE3/U3S3 AM3+

CPU: Athlon II X4 645

Power Supply: CoolerMaster 500W PSU Extreme Power

Not sure if it's a graphics card or motherboard problem, I heard it could be a motherboard problem because I don't hear a beep but no of my previous PCs beeped (but they were pre-built from places like wal-mart, is that the difference?)

That is a good thing to have in your doc's that step by step guide. Sometimes even new rigs more times not then you could go into your bios and make sure that your integrated GPU is disabled.

It is worth a try. Also make sure that your all your connectors from the GPU to the monitor are hooked up tight nothing loose. Good luck.
