Hi I currently have a Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX (Dell) and it is Super Super Super! Loud anyways my Power Supply Is a Corsair CX430 (Great PSU) for the money. Anyways I'm looking at upgrading my Graphics Card. So I've done some research and I want to know of these 4 cards which I should get and is the best Bang for the Buck.

My Choices are:
Radeon HD 5770

Radeon HD 6770

Radeon HD 5850

Radeon HD 6850

All of those cards are basically the same just upgraded in the 6000 line. So which one should I get? I want to play STarcraft II, Diablo III, WOW, BattleField 3, League of Legends, and finally Skyrim :)

SO it has to play those games at mid-Ultra Settings. I'm gonna be shopping on Ebay for a used or new brand of each of those cards. And the power requirement of those 4 cards my Corsair CX430 can handle anything above that it can't handle.

So help me pick a good GPU :)

6850 is not the replacement for the 5850 the 6950 was the replacement for the 5850 so it goes faster to slower 5850, 6850, 6770/5770 are the same cards and the 6850 is by far the best vaule unless you can get the 5850 for around the same price. Also I would not spend any more than $160 on the 5850 otherwise it would be to close in price to a 6870 to justify a purchase.

What is your budget?

What are your full system specs?(CPU,RAM,etc.)

Well the 5850 is the fastest but not far behind is the 6850.The 5770 and the 6770 are basically the same performance wise. But none of those cards can play those games on Ultra.

I suggest going for the 6850.It has a low TDP,which will be better for your PSU,and 2 of them in crossfire is a really good combo which is something you should look forward.

I have a fantastic CRT monitor capable of 2048x1536 but just gonna keep it at 1280x1024 (1080P)

Specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965
RAM: 4gb of G-skill Rip-jaws X in dual channel at 1333mhz
PSU: Corsair Cx430 V2
Mobo: Asus M4A87TD Evo
HDD: 250gb SATA 7200.11 RPM 8mb Seagate barracuda
(Current GPU): Dell Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX

So what would be the best card to upgrade with those specs. I could get more ram to make it sure it runs even faster.

I really like the 6850 and the 5850. the 6770 and 5770 are ok.

I appreciate the answers.
Is there a better card for me that my PSU can handle than what I listed?

budget is really low that's why I'm buying on ebay :)

I ahve like no money to spend so hopeing to get a good deal on Ebay.

Total budget is 70$

The native resolution is 1280X1024?
For that resolution, a HD 6850 isn't really needed. A HD 6770/5770 should suffice. But then again, going for a HD 6770 would only be a small upgrade from a 8800 GTX (with less power and DX11 support, of course), but it would be just a waste of money.
I still recommend you go for a HD 6850.

Are you serious a 6850 would crush ANY game at 1280x1024.

+1
I should have asked him the size in inches.

Witcher 2's Ubersampling kills frame rates for almost any single card out there, doesn't it?

Not even the top end cards can really handle those two games you mentioned plus I will add Metro 2033 and Crysis everyone knows that and it goes without saying so back to what I was saying a 6850 will pwn @ 1280x1024 in any game.

Ok thank you guys so I'm gonna get the Radeon HD 6850 Sapphire New in box for 70$ is that good deal?

And it will handle all my games at a medium resolution? The CRT monitor is 21 inches.

If i switched my 8800 GTX to a radeon hd 6770? would it eb a big performance increase?? And are all those fans quieter than my 8800 GTX I can't stand the darn thing!!!

6850 can handle most games even at 1080P no problem but $70 for a new 6850 is not true they go for around $140 brand new right now.

Save yourself some time and accumulate $30 more then wait 20 sec before an auction ends and nab a 6850 ASAP. They are definitely worth the money, will smash many games at your resolution, and my Sapphire in particular was very quiet and overclocked very well.

You should be alright with the 6870 on your PSU I have a GTX 275 running fine on a similar PSU.

No, I don't think it can handle a 6870, :) but if your interested I have one available for $130 soon. I just sold my Sapphire 6850 for $120 shipped because I was able to ensure reliability (something that is fairly questioned when buying GPUs) so be careful about those cheap prices (of course you know that already).

6870 draws 151watts or 28 amps the Corsair CX 430 will power it no worries it is Johnny Guru recommended.

Ok so what i've gathered so far from this thread is. My Cx430 Can handle a 6870 If I upgrade to that. I should get a Radeon HD 6850 off of Ebay for about 70-90$. my monitor is great even though it's a CRT. And the HD 6850 can handle all of the games I listed at highish settings? Correct Everybody? Ok good now I ahve to go search ebay for a good 6850 GPU.

6850 is mid range not low end and I would say even $140 is a good deal for a 6850 but then I saw just a few minutes ago a 6870 on newegg for $150.
