Asus Xonar D1 showing as Multimedia Audio Controller

So after randomly booting my PC it stopped recognizing my Asus Xonar D1 sound card, which was apparently replaced by a Multimedia Audio Controller in Device Manager with the usual Yellow exclamation mark.

so.. what just happened?

I tried running the EEPROM fix while booting but it said it wasn't even corrupt.
any help appreciated guys

Have you tried simply reinstalling the drivers?
