Radeon 6870 CPU slowdown

I am building a PC for my friend in a few weeks, and I want to know. Will the urrent CPU i have planed out for the build, a Intel Sand Bridge Pentuim G530, slow down his HIS Radeon 6870. I also will have 4GB of ram and a Biostar H61MGC motherboard.

It would, but that would cost an extra $300 my frirend does not have.
Should I maybe get an Anthlon X3 instead?
