Audio through new FM2 processor?

Last response: in CPUs

Hello all,
I am in the process of buying for a new HTPC build and I have a question regarding the integrated graphics on the new FM2 processors.

I am planning on buying the Trinity 5800K: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
With this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Will I receive audio through the motherboard's HDMI port? Or do I need a separate sound card? Keep in mind I don't have surround sound; my ideal setup would just be to have the HTPC connected to the TV via HDMI.

All assistance is appreciated!

AFAIK, only the earliest generations of HDMI-capable GPUs did not support HDMI sound.

HDMI sound is pretty much standard on all GPUs introduced over the past 4-5 years and since FM2 APUs borrow their GPU core from the HD7xxx lineup, it should support it as well.

Worst case, you can add audio later.
