Hi guys, I have a photo which I took for my soon-to-be ex wife. It shows her
new cottage in its surroundings.
The problem is the power lines that run from one end of the shot to the
other, I have tried various times to remove them, but cant seem to get it
right.
It should not take long for someone more adept with PS.
The photo is not for financial gain, just trying to appease my wife a little
(apparently I have done nothing wrong, she just doesn't love me anymore).
If anyone would be prepared to help I would be very grateful, please let me
know and I can forward the file.

And perhaps a virus along with it.
Never the less,......Most professional labs and a quite few
non pro ones will offer you the service for a fee. Check the phone
listings in your area for someone to do so. I know I would not want such
file sent to me from an anon poster.

I may not be a regular poster, but I have been using the rec.photo groups
for a few years now.
I can assure you I was just looking for some help, not to maliciously infect
the recipients of my photo with a virus.
What has the world come to, Im sure it used to be a better place

I'd be happy to try and retouch it for you if you want to mail the pic.

That's why I offered some help (a suggestion),....it is sad currently -
but maybe it will be a happy place once more. I try to be an optimist,
but my father was somewhat pessimistic so its genetic
He was also a dragon.

I generally find the clone tool the most useful for removing power lines
from sky background. Sometimes I set the transparency to about 50% and
clone from slightly above, then slightly below. If there is not a lot
of shading, then 100% transparency from either above or below usually
works okay.
Even when the lines cross non-sky background I still use the clone tool.

Hi...
And thinking along the lines of the old teach a man to
fish idea; perhaps Vic will be good enough to send you
a quick write-up of the steps taken to perform the
excellent edit

Post the image to a Web site, or upload it to alt.binaries.test NG, and let me
know when it's posted - remember, most servers, even my big subscription ones
purge the "test" groups on a regular basis. I'll rid the photo of those power
lines in a few seconds, and either FTP, or re-post to alt.binaries.test for
you.

In a TIFF or JPEG file? Nonsense. And in any case easy to protect
against, I'd scan it before opening it if I had any doubts.
