Hello,
I'm curently looking to build a gaming/visual rendering configuration and i was wondering if you guys could help me..

My current dilema is regarding the processor and the motherboard socket:

proc : i7 -3770k 8 mb cache vs Xeon E3- 1240 3.4 8 mb cache and a i7 -3700 10mb cache ut on a lga 2011 socket

motherboard: socket 1155 vs 2011

+ :
i dont plan on overclocking
i am a pretty hardcore gamer too (BF3, MW3, and newer stuff)
i dont need a integrated gpu since im going for a gtx 670
i use a lot 3d max and autodesk projects + adobe suite for arhitectural purposes ( renderings, visual animations etc)

Where are you getting a i7-3700? Those don't even exist.

The i7-3770K will be faster than the Xeon (though likely around 5%, give or take). Still, it has more speed. So kick the Xeon out of the picture. And like I said, there is no such thing as a i7-3700. Also, since you aren't overclocking, get a i7-3770 instead of the K version. Same thing, just one can be overclocked (the K version) and the other one can't (the non-K version).

Finally, for socket 2011, you have two options. The i7-3820, or the i7-3930K. The i7-3770 will be around the same performance as the i7-3820, however the extra cache may help slightly with your rendering. But, if you go with socket 2011, you might as well as go for the i7-3930K (but that's just me).
