Help! Graphic card not working

I recently bought a Folon 9800gt gb GDDR3 graphics card. Before this I had a msi 8400gs. But when i installed it on my pc and connected my VGA it wont work...I have a 450W power supply also PCI express. I dont know what to do now...plz plz need help

Sounds like you got a Faulty card.... Why get a 9800gt

on some of the over clocked 9xxx cards there was a need for extra power..the pci slot could not supply all the power these high end cards at the time needed. there may be a small floppy molex on the back of the card. newer cards from nvidia and amd use a 6 pin pci-e format.
