I have a splitter cable that has 1 plug that fits into a 6 pin 12v slot on my PSU and splits into two molex cables. Can I plug two fans into that and will that be ok? I noticed that the molex cables on the splitter only has 3 pins, what is the difference between 3 and 4 pin ones?

there isnt much of a problem. you would only run into a problem when you are using 5500rpm delta fans which draw 15w a piece

should be fine, I asked a similar question awhile ago, I would just make sure both fans power draws don't exceed 1amp total unless stated other wise in the mobo manual. Most fans wont ever use even 0.5 amps unless getting some Ultra Kaze's or Delta.
