Hey,

Just been thinking about upgrading my graphics card. Here is my current setup:

- Intel Core i5 2500k @ 3.3Ghz
- Asus EAH5770 CuCore
- 12GB DDR3 RAM @1333Mhz
- Asus P8H67-M
- Corsair TX650W PSU
- 500GB HDD @ 7200 RPM
- Fractal Design Arc Mini with 6 fans installed.

I am thinking about upgrading to the Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 from Amazon. It's currently priced at £123.10 which i think is pretty good and i currently have around £100 saved up. Other things you should know are that I play in 1920x1080 and the main games I play are Skyrim, CoD4 (yes number 4) and BF3. Mainly BF3 as i've recently purchased it and i'm enjoying it.

Thanks, Chris.

The 6870 is an absolutely worthwhile upgrade from a 5770, and should net nearly 80% increase in DX11 games. Prices on the 6870s are great right now and sapphire is fine choice. Asus is typically my favorite, followed by MSI, but unless you plan on OCing the card, you should be fine.

Hey,

Thanks for the quick reply. What graphics settings should I be expecting to run BF3 at?

Thanks again, Chris. :)

BF3 is a bit of a monster, so even though a 6870 will be able to max out most other games on a single 1080p monitor, in BF3 you might have to settle for just high, not ultra settings. Thankfully your cpu is good enough that down the raod you can upgrade to 7870 and still not be cpu bottle necked.
