Need suggestions on GPU upgrade.

Alright folks, I need a new graphics card so I can finally do some heavy ENB shading in Skyrim! Here are my specs:

Intel i5 - 2310 @ 3.2 GHz
HIS HD 6670 1GB GDDR5
8GB Ram
1360x768 60Hz Monitor
500w PSU


I know my monitor sucks, I plan on upgrading as soon as I get back to work
I need to know what graphics card I should get so i can be future proof when I upgrade my monitor later on. Is the GTX 550Ti worth it for my resolution? Or should I get a GTX 460? I don't really like AMD anymore so i need a new nVidia card


My price range is $100-150. I plan on getting a 1920x1080 monitor soon before my graphics card so can my HD 6670 play Skyrim on high at that resolution?

you'll be able to play skyrim on high settings with both the 550ti and the 460. The 460 does considerably better

Go for HD 6770/ HD 7750 instead of gtx550i. They are similar to gtx550ti, but cost less than 550i.

The thing is, I want a nVidia card because of Physx. AMD has good cards for the price, but it doesn't have Phyx and i doubt I'll ever SLi so i'm looking for a single power house.

Nvidia physx is for higher card like 560ti or higher. Low range card like 550ti will give you that much performance. In fact physx require a dedicated physx card. So you will not get much benefit from 550ti.
