(stock cooler) 3570k overclock ~ 4.1ghz ,temp ?

I managed to overclock 3570k with stock cooler to 4.1 ghz and temp in somewhat CPU dependant games is hovering
73 ,76,76,73 I know its bad temp ,but just how bad really ? I will get a better cooler later.

No bad temps considering it is on stock cooler, but your 3570K goes all alone to 3.8 GHz, so 300 MHz is not a big deal really.

As a ***reference*** use TCASE 67.4C, which is the max temps for your CPU.

You can get a $30 CPU cooler, then push it a bit more.

I guess I could go a little further with stock cooler since all I did was slightly bumped *can't remember name in bios*
but was worried about temp .And yes I was aiming to get exactly that cooler .

the only game which is highly CPU depandant right now is Hitman absolution :sniper challenge and with stock speeds I was getting 40fps BUT after overclock I got another extra 10 fps ,so thats why !

With the Intel® Core™ i5-3570K your temperatures are not dangerous but I would really work to lower them. Adding a cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo can really help the temperatures without costing an arm and a leg.

Apart from a better cooler solution for OC, get a SSD, the performance will rock!
