Hello,
After I re-soldered a loose AC port connector on the mobo, and reassebled the laptop, I can't get a wired network connection (wireless works fine). Could this be caused by a loose/bad ribbon connector? OS is Win 7.

Could be a loose wire or something with the tiny wire that goes from the RJ-45 port on the I/O to the Motherboard. Is the soldering you done anywhere near it?

Rockdpm,
Thanks for the helpful hint that a loose wire might be responsible. Upon further inspection, one of the tiny R-45 wires inside the adapter was bent. Straightening it out using a sewing needle restored the connection. Thanks for your response.

no yea problem, and hey these things happen all the time. I recently got a laptop hard drive to use adapter and most people said the adapter come with broken or bent pins as well as bent wires but luckily mine came in working condition
