Hi, :hello:

I have overclocked the Intel Quad Core Q8400 from 2.66Ghz to 3.00Ghz but while playing GTA IV (high settings with some of them medium) i don't get more than 25 FPS. Is this the CPU fault? I play Witcher 2 on high settings with no problem. Also in Battlefield 3 i had to disable AA to get it run smooth (high settings). Does the CPU bottlenecks and reduces the power of the GPU? (i was expecting to play GTA IV on very high settings)
Btw. i got 4 GB of RAM a 500GB Seagate HDD (where the games are installed), a 640 GB Western Digital HDD, the cooler of the CPU isn't the stock one but i have upgraded it and it keeps the temps really low. Also the GPU temps are low and i use the geforce 285.62 driver which is recommended for the BF3 [i had some frame drops and they are gone (older thread of mine)]

Thanks! :)

GTA IV is a very bad console port and has lots of performance problems. The 560 shouldn't be bottlenecked much though. Try looking up a tweak guide or figure out for yourself what settings are majorly affecting your fps.

Ok thanks i am gonna look some tweaks for GTA. Do you think that if i overclock the CPU to 3.20Ghz it will improve the GTX 560 performance?

Turn shadows down to medium and try to max all other settings with a view distance of 45.
Usually the best CPU/GPU combo.
This was with my 2500k and GTX 480.

i I turned all of the shadows to medium and set view distance to 30 and it is now playable. It has 30-40 FPS now!

Thanks! :bounce:
