hello,

im wondering does anyone know when the new FX chips will be released in the uk??
i want to upgrade my current FX-8120 to a new one

also what gains are there from the new FX compared to the old ones?

If there wasn't anything wrong with your CPU, you should wait it off until the price drops. That way it makes more sense to upgrade later on. But regardless of your choice I heard they will be available on the 24th of October. I do not think they will be good enough to justify an extra $40/$50+ over the current prices of the FX-8120's. The only way I could see you getting your money's worth is selling your current CPU then upgrading.

The 8350 is an overglorified speed bump. If you want a real performance jump, either sell your AMD rig and jump ship to Intel or wait for PD. Just looking at the results from Trinity, the PD cores are 10-15% more efficient than the Llano cores, so expect similar performance from the FX PD offerings, as well as better OC performance.

The 8350 is Piledriver.
