More control over one's own posts

People should be able to edit their own messages, close their own topics and edit the titles of the threads they started. Why aren't people allowed to do that? Is a feature like that being worked on?

You can edit your own posts and threads using the edit button in the lower right of your post. The grey "quick edit" button doesn't always work though (especially if you're in the UK forum). Editing a thread title is done by using the full edit function on the first post.

You cannot close your own threads.

But sometimes it says "this message cannot be edited" or "this message cannot be deleted". Why does it do that?

It's usually a bug, and as I said before it mostly (but not exclusively) affects the .co.uk forum.

Another bug I know is when you post a message and it says "this site is temporarily unavailable". But when I go back to the thread the message has still been posted.
