2x 6970's PSU Enough?? help..

hi everyone,
im wondering is a OCZ Fatal1ty 750w PSU good enough for 2x 6970's in xfire.

my specs will be
intel i5 2500k @ 4ghz (or should i leave at 3.3ghz)
asrock exteme3 gen3
g.skill ripjaws x 8gb 1600mhz
1 ssd and 1 hdd
dvd burner
5 case fans
cooler master hyper 212 evo

so will my psu be enough for the 6970's?

and on that note will 2x 6970's max bf3 ultra locked a 60fps on a 1080p monitor
thanks,stapo19

  1. 750w is pushing it, you should be fine with a good brand like ocz, but i would go for at least 850w or so.
  2. that is a great psu read some reviews here:
    http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/OCZ-Fatal1ty-750-W-Power-Supply-Review/1019

Well here you check the SLI certified PSUS list:
    http://www.geforce.com/Active/en_US/en_US/pdf/PSU.pdf

And since your psu can handle a 570 SLI

    570 consumes ~219 W
    6970 consumes ~207W

so yes it will probably handle it safelly, i just don't recommend overclocking any components, run them with default clocks but even overclocking it should handle perfectly since it is certified.
  3. thanks for that, coz im getting a hd 6970 for $300 AUD and i will crossfire later or should i buy the gainward gtx 580 for $365 AUD but then that eliminates the option to run 2 in sli
