So i finally have some cash to upgrade. Will be doing the CPU, motherboard, RAM and HDD. The parts I have in mind are as follows:
Core i5-3570K
AsRock Z77-Extreme 4
Gskill Ripjaws X 1600 or 1866 or 2133, there is not much price difference between them, but i understand the ivy bridge cpu's are designed to work with 1600mhz reliably and there is no real performance gains over this speed.
WD Black 1gb HDD.

Graphics card can wait, its doing the job fine right now, But 'im suffering instability due to my OC'd Q6600 and crappy nforce motherboard.

Any suggestions or do you thing this setup will work fine. I dont plan to break any OC records with the i5, and the 2500k is not available for any decent price. A solid 4 - 4.5 ghz is all I am aiming for, but doesn't really need to be overclocked until i require more power. Primary use of the machine is gaming, the CPU choice is pretty much set in stone, its more the motherboard and ram that i'm not 100% sure about. Cheers.

Looks good to me. All I would suggest is going with this RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
I've binned 6 sets of these and they've all hit 1866/C9 at less than 1.5v and most of them do 2133/C10 at 1.5v or better.

so, anyway, i bought the 2133 ram (was only $9 more expensive than the 1600, so why the hell not) with asrock z77 extreme 4 board and 3570k cpu. runs sweet. cant believe the difference even with my mid range vid card. Very surprising. Even though in some games frame rates with fraps dont seem much different, all games play smoother, dead smooth in fact. I'm one happy chappy. Cheers for the only reply cuecuemore!

No problem! People like to say things like "there's no performance increase in games over DDR3 1600" but those people have never actually tested it for themselves. So congratulations on the fast RAM!
